Kohl's could pretty much care less......

.....this is an excerpt from their response that came to me this morning...

Ms. Spears is an international celebrity and pop culture icon who embodies the spirit of the Candie's brand and personifies the iconic Candie's Girl, self confident and stylish. We respect Ms. Spears right to privacy, and her personal life does not reflect the views of Kohl's Department Stores.

yada, yada, yada.....we had a name for talk like this where I come from, and you could find it in a barnyard usually close behind a horse.

If a person's entire "persona" to borrow their word, revolves around sex, drugs/alcohol, and self degradation, and you're telling us that is the "spirit" of their brand, then folks, they can keep it. And as far as Ms. Spears and their respect of her private life,,,puhleeze. She doesn't want her life to be private. If she did, she'd quit her lifestyle move back to Louisiana where she came from, get a job at Sears, cook dinner, watch T.V. and play with her kids in the park. The paparazzi would get bored with that in about three minutes. GET.OVER.IT!!

So oxyMORONish...so what is the persona of Candies and exactly what is their spirit? We are using her celebrity and icon status that is public based largely NOW on what she does in private. Ugh....

Hey Calista! I'm just getting caught up on your blog after seeing you dropped a comment on mine (thanks, BTW!). I will give ya a HOLLA BACK on this one! Good grief..thankfully I'm 32 now and don't feel compelled to dabble in the junior's clothing sections anymore, so at least I won't have a conflict about whether or not I should by Candie's clothing. :-)

I work for Kohl's and can't fathom why the company would want to partner with someone like Britney Spears.
